Ways to Reduce Youth Alcohol Use

1. Talk.  They are Listening.  The most impactful way to reduce your child's risk of using alcohol is by talking to them about where you stand on underage drinking.  Our kids are listening. Parents are the #1 influence on their kids during adolescence.

2. Reduce Access.  Consider keeping alcohol locked at home or using liquor stickers so you know if opened bottles have been used.

3. Model safe alcohol consumption practices.  Our kids are always watching. Model safe alcohol consumption practices, do not serve to underage individuals, have a sober driver, or use Uber/Lyft, include food when using alcohol, and alternate water with an alcoholic beverage to reduce the chance overindulging.
